Arriving in Ibiza the easy way
After twelve years meeting travellers at Ibiza Airport (IBZ), I've learned that the first ten minutes set the tone for the whole trip. You step off the plane tired, maybe it's late at night, and the last thing you want is to hunt for a taxi or work out the signage. With a private chauffeur, the arrival is simple: someone is waiting with your name, handles the bags and drives you straight to your door in a Mercedes V-Class. I'm Ilian, a personal chauffeur on Ibiza, and here's exactly how the meet & greet works, step by step.
Where I wait for you
When you land, I'm already inside the terminal. I wait in the arrivals hall, just past baggage reclaim, holding a clearly visible sign with your name on it. You don't have to scan the crowd or make a phone call the moment you touch down. As soon as you come through the doors, you'll see me. We say hello, I take your luggage, and we walk to the car, which is parked close by. No standing in the sun, no dragging bags across a car park.
I track your flight in real time
One of the biggest mistakes is booking a transfer that can't cope with delays. I track your flight in real time from the moment it takes off. If you land early, I'm there. If the flight is delayed by an hour or two, no problem: I adjust my arrival and keep waiting, with no extra charge for the delay itself. You don't pay for waiting time that wasn't your fault, and you'll never come out to find the car has left because your plane was late.
Help with your luggage
The moment we meet, the bags are my job. Whether it's a family with buggies and baby seats, or a couple with sports equipment, the V-Class has plenty of room. You walk to the car with your hands free while I load everything. It's a small thing, but after a long flight it means a lot not to have to push a heavy trolley across the parking area.
What if I land in the middle of the night?
Ibiza takes a lot of late arrivals, and the small hours are exactly when the taxi queue is longest and slowest. I work by reservation, so it doesn't matter if you land at one or three in the morning: I'll be there, awake and waiting. The car will be ready, air-conditioned in summer, and I'll take you straight to your hotel, villa or port with no detours. After a full day of travelling, getting to bed as soon as possible is priceless.
The difference from the taxi rank
In high season, the taxi rank at Ibiza Airport can mean a wait of thirty, forty minutes or more, especially when several flights land at once. You don't know which car you'll get, you can't guarantee space for all your bags, and the price depends on the meter and the traffic. With a private chauffeur booked in advance, the car is always the same, the price is agreed up front, and there's no queue. On top of that, I know the island: I know which route avoids the Sant Antoni jams in August and how to reach the most hidden villas.
New for 2026: AERO5 access
From 2026, Ibiza Airport is running the new AERO5 access-control system in the vehicle pick-up and parking area. As a licensed professional chauffeur, I handle all the terminal access permits and fees myself, so it's nothing for you to worry about. You simply walk out through the arrivals doors and I take care of the rest. What it does mean is that booking ahead matters more than ever, because access is more tightly regulated than before.
What to send me when you book
To make sure everything runs perfectly, when you message me on WhatsApp please send these details:
- Flight number and departure city (so I can track your exact arrival).
- Date and scheduled landing time.
- Number of passengers, noting if children are travelling and whether a car seat is needed.
- Number of bags and any special luggage (golf, boards, prams).
- Final destination: hotel name, villa address or port.
With that, I have everything ready. I confirm the price in advance and, on the day you arrive, I'm waiting with your name in hand. Message me on WhatsApp whenever you like and we'll arrange your transfer calmly. Welcome to Ibiza.
