How airport transfer pricing works in 2026
Zone-based flat rates (private chauffeur)

One price, one car, whether you're solo or a group of seven. Split between friends, a private chauffeur often costs the same as several taxis.
The taxi meter
A licensed Ibiza taxi is metered. You'll pay a starting fare plus a per-kilometre rate, with supplements for luggage, late-night hours and airport pickups. On a quiet afternoon to Playa d'en Bossa that might be €20-30. In peak August, at 3am, with a queue snaking across the terminal, the same ride can feel very different — and the meter only tells you the total once you've arrived. There's no fixed quote before you get in.
What's included when I collect you
The price difference isn't just about the car. It's about what happens around the ride.

If you're travelling light, arriving in daylight, going somewhere close like Ibiza Town, and there's no queue at the rank — a taxi is quick and reasonable. For a short solo hop, it's hard to beat.
When a private chauffeur is worth it
- You're a group. Four to seven people plus luggage in one comfortable car beats splitting into two taxis every time.
- You land late or during peak season. August queues at IBZ are real. Having someone already waiting is worth a lot at 1am.
- You want the price locked before you fly. No surprises, no supplements you didn't expect.
- You value the small things. Being greeted by name in your own language after a long day is a different start to a holiday.
- It's a special arrival. A honeymoon, a big birthday, a client you're hosting — the first impression matters.
A note on driving and drinks in 2026
If you're thinking of renting a car and driving yourself from the airport, remember Spain's general blood-alcohol limit is 0.2 g/L in 2026 — effectively almost nothing.
